MISSION STATEMENT

Emory University's Mission Statement highlights two goals: "To help men and women fully develop their intellectual, aesthetic and moral capacities through teaching and through the quest of knowledge and public service, improve human well-being." In addition to these clearly stated goals, Emory also seeks to provide an environment where a "global perspective on the human condition can be addressed." As part of the Emory community, the African Student Association recognizes these set goals and seeks to foster a setting where cultural perspectives can be addressed and brought before the student body to further promote global awareness. For this reason, the Association has created activities dedicated to celebrating the cultural richness of Africa as well as contributing to the intellectual and social environment of the university.
